PROJECT: FAILING FLESH: New Songs Are 'Amazing'

September 20, 2005

PROJECT: FAILING FLESH's Kevin 131 (GARDEN OF SHADOWS, TWISTED TOWER DIRE, BRAVE, WHILE HEAVEN WEPT) has issued the following update on the recording sessions for the group's new album, "The Conjoined":

"As reported here before, Eric [Forrest; ex-VOIVOD, curently in E-FORCE] was finally in the studio with us to do vocals. He had come over from France early, to pay his respects to Piggy [late VOIVOD guitarist]. I have to admit, the timing is bittersweet — we were glad to have him here to do the record, but just the week before he was here for another reason. Eric had some great Piggy stories for me — and made me respect the guy and his work even more. Here's to Piggy — not forgotten in space!

"The songs are amazing. I told Eric I think this is the best he has sounded on ANY record I have heard him on. More complete, more brutal, and more 'types' of voices. The brutal stuff, some black metal type vocals, death metal low growls, sung stuff, weird voices, and all in ways that seem to fit each part. Not doing too much just to do it, but doing what fit. All in all, we have been SUPER-excited at the way this record is sounding. This is actually the first metal record I have done this year since the DECEASED record, so it is good to be able to put all the ideas I have in my head to use. The next step is to go back through a last round of overdubs with some various instruments... and then I'll be able to start mixing. Once I start, the mixes should take about 2 weeks. I usually mix one a day. So that will be about 10-12 days. Then we'll go back for recalls and make any fine adjustments. From there, we'll take it to mastering and then the usual processes, artwork, replication. Blah, blah, blah, everyone knows. Hopefully the record will surface late in the year, or early next year. Most of all, we are totally happy with it and have been having a great time making more brutal tunes."

PROJECT: FAILING FLESH's debut album, "A Beautiful Sickness", was released in the U.S. earlier this year via Candlelight Records USA. The CD was issued in Europe last September through Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records).
